(No. 3) Amanda Anisimova def. (No. 26) Linda Nosková 6-0, 2-6, 6-2
Amanda Anisimova won her first China Open title on Wednesday, defeating Czech Linda Noskova in three sets after holding off a comeback. Anisimova stormed through the opening set but was pushed to the limit before regaining control in the decider to seal a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 win.
Anisimova had a perfect start, winning the first six games of the match and converting all three of her break points to win the opening set in just 23 minutes. Noskova, however, responded with resilience in the second, breaking Anisimova in the opening game and maintaining her edge throughout. She saved two break points and found her rhythm from the baseline, forcing a deciding set.
In the third, Anisimova rediscovered her dominance, controlling play behind her serve and hitting winners with precision. The turning point came at 3-2 when Noskova, faltered on a break point, allowing Anisimova to seize the momentum. The American closed out the match by winning the final four games to clinch the title.
With the win, Anisimova became the third American to win the China Open women’s singles title, joining Serena Williams (2004, 2013) and Coco Gauff (2024). She is also the first American to win multiple WTA 1000 titles in a single season since Williams in 2015. The world No. 4, who reached the finals at both the US Open and Wimbledon this year, now owns two WTA 1000 titles this season — having previously won in Doha — and four career titles overall.
