2025 Eastboure: Taylor Fritz Wins Eastbourne for Record-Extending Fourth Title

(No. 1) Taylor Fritz def. Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-1

Taylor Fritz captured a record-extending fourth Lexus Eastbourne Open title on Saturday, defeating Jenson Brooksby 7-5, 6-1. The win marked his 10th career ATP title and fifth on grass, making him just the second active player with five grass-court tour-level titles, trailing only Novak Djokovic who has eight.

Fritz has won the ATP 250 event in Eastbourne in 2019, 2022, 2024 and now 2025. After fighting through three consecutive three-set matches to reach the final, the top seed found another level in Saturday’s championship match, rallying from a break down in the first set and cruising through the second to clinch the title.

Brooksby had a faster start to the match, taking the first break and a 3-2 lead. But Fritz responded immediately, breaking back to level the set. Once he found his rhythm, particularly on his forehand where he hit seven winners in the first set, he took control of the match.

Fritz’s momentum continued into the second set. Despite facing two break points at 1-1, he held serve and broke Brooksby in his next two service games to close out the match in dominant fashion.

With the win, Fritz adds another title to his strong 2025 grass-court campaign, having also winning at the Stuttgart Open earlier in the month. He now heads to Wimbledon as a top contender, and will open his tournament against Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard on Monday.
