The semifinals of the 2025 Italian Open on both the ATP WTA side has wrapped up setting up finals matchups between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, and Coco Gauff and Jasmine Paolini.

(No. 4) Coco Gauff def. (No. 8) Zheng Qinwen 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (4)
Coco Gauff advanced to her first Italian Open final with a gritty three-set victory over Zheng Qinwen. Gauff let a 5-3 lead slip in the opening set but capitalized on Zheng’s double faults to secure the tiebreak. The set say inconsistency from both players combining for 35 unforced errors. Zheng responded in the second set, earning an early break to force a the deciding third set. In the third set, the two traded breaks three times, and Zheng failed to serve out the match at 5-4. Gauff regrouped in the tiebreak and closed out the match to improve to 3-0 in their head-to-head matchups. Gauff will face home favorite Jasmine Paolini in the final.
(No. 6) Jasmine Paolini def. Peyton Stearns 7-5, 6-1
Jasmine Paolini became the first Italian woman in over a decade to reach the Italian Open final with a straight-sets win over Peyton Stearns. Stearns started strong, racing to a 3-0 lead and holding a 4-1 advantage in the first set. But Paolini responded with grit, saving set points and reeling off four straight games to complete the comeback and take the opener. She carried that momentum into the second set, breaking Stearns twice to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Paolini broke for a fifth time to close out the match and books her spot in Sunday’s final against Coco Gauff.

(No. 1) Jannik Sinner def. (No. 11) Tommy Paul 1-6, 6-0, 6-3
Jannik Sinner overcame a slow start to defeat Tommy Paul and reach the final in his first tournament back. Paul dominated the first set, racing to a 5-0 lead as Sinner struggled with 13 unforced errors and only two winners. But Sinner responded at the start of the second set, winning nine straight games to take control of the match. He found consistency from the baseline and found his rhythm on return, eventually closing out the third set to complete the comeback. With the win, Sinner advances to the final, where he will face World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz.
(No. 3) Carlos Alcaraz def. (No. 8) Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-6 (4)
Carlos Alcaraz secured a spot in his first final in Rome with a straight-sets win over Lorenzo Musetti. The Spaniard capitalized on Musetti’s inconsistency early, breaking him three times and taking the opening set as Musetti committed 29 unforced errors. In the second set, both players exchanged early breaks, and Musetti briefly led 4-3. But Alcaraz broke back in the eighth game and won the tiebreak to seal the match. He will face World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a blockbuster final on Sunday.
