2026 Qatar Open: Carlos Alcaraz Dominates in Doha to Capture Qatar Open Crown

(No. 1) Carlos Alcaraz def. Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-1

Carlos Alcaraz delivered a dominant performance in Doha on Saturday, racing past Arthur Fils in straight sets in just 50 minutes to capture the Qatar ExxonMobil Open title. The 22-year-old Spaniard dropped only three games in the final, showcasing his overwhelming form at the ATP 500 event.

The win came just 20 days after Alcaraz made history at the Australian Open, where he became the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam. He extended his unbeaten start to the 2026 season to 12 matches and finished the tournament having lost just one set all week, underlining his control from start to finish in Doha.

From the opening games, Alcaraz dictated play with aggressive baseline hitting and elite defensive coverage. Even when Fils raised his level and attempted to engage in longer rallies, Alcaraz responded with spectacular retrievals and precise shotmaking, never allowing the match to gain momentum.

The win marked Alcaraz’s ninth ATP 500 title, tied with Andy Murray for the fourth-most trophies in the category since its introduction in 2009. Alcaraz will play his next tournament at the ATP Masters 1000 event at Indian Wells, where the two-time champion begins his campaign on March 4.
