The design drew inspiration from military aesthetics, specifically the MA1 flight jacket. It featured an olive nubuck upper with black and orange accents, as well as a Velcro Jumpman tongue patch to enhance the flight jacket inspiration. Undefeated’s signature use of military themes was the key design feature, making the sneaker not just iconic but also influential in shaping the direction of collaborative sneaker design.
Now in 2025, Undefeated and Jordan Brand are reuniting to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the legendary collaboration. For the first time ever, the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4 is being rereleased to the public, marking a major moment in the current trend of reviving archival classics. With Nike and Jordan Brand digging into their vaults to bring back historic releases like the Galaxy Foamposites and WuTang Dunks, the return of the Undefeated 4s fits right in with the nostalgia-driven wave dominating sneaker culture.
The 2025 retro remains largely faithful to the original, staying true to its olive and orange colorway inspired by the MA1 jacket. However, there are a few key updates. This version features the Nike Air logo on the heel instead of the original Jumpman logo, an orange Nike logo on the outsole, Undefeated’s Five Strike logo on the insole, and special 20th anniversary packaging. While the original pairs were nearly impossible to acquire, this year’s release will be significantly more accessible.
The 2025 Undefeated x Air Jordan 4 will release on August 2 for $230, exclusively through Undefeated.
