Air Jordan 4 ‘Black Cat’ (2025)

Jordan Brand is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan line with the return of one of its most popular colorways: the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat.” Originally released in 2006, the Black Cat colorway was known for its sleek all-black aesthetic. The 2025 retro brings back the model’s signature dark look while staying true to the design language that has helped cement it as a modern classic.

Inspired by one of Michael Jordan’s well-known nicknames, “Black Cat,” the shoe channels Jordan’s panther-like agility and instinct on the court. The Air Jordan 4 Black Cat features a monochromatic black upper constructed from nubuck leather, accompanied by black netting, black wings, and black midsoles. Subtle Light Graphite accents appear on the tongue and insole branding, adding just a hint of contrast. A white Nike logo on the outsole maintains the design’s heritage roots, while the latest 2025 iteration restores original-style Nike Air branding on the heel for the first time.

Although the Black Cat colorway is now considered one of the most coveted Air Jordan 4 releases, its rise was far from instant. When the shoe debuted in 2006, pairs sat on shelves for months and were eventually marked down at retail. Its 2020 rerelease—its first comeback since ’06—marked the beginning of its resurgence, with resale values soaring to four-figure territory. Now returning for just the third time, the 2025 Black Cat release comes at the peak of popularity for the silhouette.

The Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” will release on Black Friday, November 28, 2025, releasing in full family sizing though Nike’s SNKRS app and select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide. Retail pricing is set at $220 for adult sizes, $165 for big kids, $105 for little kids, and $90 for toddlers.
