On Saturday night, the Denver Nuggets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 136–120 road win over the Chicago Bulls. The game was competitive entering the fourth quarter, but Denver pulled away, outscoring Chicago by 23 points in the final quarter to secure the win.
Nikola Jokic delivered another dominant performance, recording a triple-double with 22 points, 17 assists and 14 rebounds. The performance was historic, as Jokic passed Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson for second place on the NBA’s all-time triple-double list with the 182nd of his career. Only former Nuggets teammate Russell Westbrook, who has 207, now stands ahead of him.
The three-time NBA MVP continues to look like himself after recently returning from a knee injury that sidelined him for several weeks. Jokic has posted back-to-back triple-doubles and now has 19 on the season, reinforcing his status as one of the league’s best players. He and Westbrook are the only players in NBA history to average a triple-double over multiple seasons.
Despite ongoing injury concerns for Denver, including hamstring issues to Peyton Watson and Aaron Gordon, the return of Christian Braun and Cameron Johnson has helped stabilize the rotation. With Jokic playing at an elite level once again, the Nuggets remain well-positioned to stay competitive, and the possibility of him eventually surpassing Westbrook as the NBA’s all-time triple-double leader is no longer far-fetched.
