Richard Mille RM 67-01 ‘Extra Flat’

Housed in the brand’s signature tonneau case crafted from microblasted Grade 5 titanium, the RM 67-01 measures just 38mm x 45mm x 7.75mm. These proportions represent an combination of two key references: the RM 010, which solidified Richard Mille’s barrel-shaped case, and the RM 016, the brand’s original thin model. The result is the most comfortable, and thinest watch in the entire Richard Mille line.

The case features polished beveling along its edges, supporting columns nestled into the case walls, and Richard Mille’s proprietary five-pronged screws equally positioned around the case face. The RM 67-01 also includes a curved sapphire crystal, a sapphire caseback, a screw-down crown, and a rubber strap fitted with a signed titanium deployment clasp.

The skeletonized dial offers remarkable depth and detail. A tonneau-shaped ring sits around the dial, housing a set of white, automotive-inspired, luminous Arabic indices. At 2 o’clock, a crown function display indicates winding, date setting, or time setting. At 5 o’clock, a vertically stacked date window is positioned. Looking past this initial layer reveals the Richard Mille Calibre CRMA6 automatic movement, with its ultra-modern aesthetic of titanium bridges, plasma-cut components, and a solid platinum rotor visible through the exhibition caseback.

Between 1 and 2 o’clock, a function indicator shows whether the crown is set to Winding, Date, or Hand-setting mode.

The RM 67-01 is powered by the automatic Calibre CRMA6, which measures 3.6mm thick. A new caliber at its time of release, it was designed in-house by Richard Mille and manufactured externally. The baseplate and bridges are made of Grade 5 titanium, finished with a combination of gray and black electroplasma treatments. The winding rotor is crafted from solid platinum. The movement uses Richard Mille’s patented winding system with ceramic ball bearings for efficient winding and provides a 50-hour power reserve.

The movement is open-worked on both the front and back, a familiar sight on many Richard Mille timepieces. Part of the reason for this design choice was to give the RM 67-01 a profound sense of depth.
