Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ (Lifestyle)
November 22, 2024
The Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ is one of the best Jordans, colorways, and sneakers of all time. The Air Jordan 3 was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the legendary Nike and Jordan Brand designer, for Michael Jordan in the late 1980s. At the time, the Air Jordan line was still seen as an experiment, with only two signature shoes released and some doubt about whether the brand would continue. Hatfield’s work on the Air Jordan 3 erased all doubt, as he created a unique silhouette. The Air Jordan 3 was the first mid-top Jordan shoe and featured a visible Air unit in the heel, similar to the popular Air Max runners.
The shoe was first released in 1988 and marked the debut of the Jumpman logo on the shoes, along with a unique cracked elephant/cement print. Michael Jordan popularized the Air Jordan 3 by wearing them during his iconic victory in the 1988 NBA Dunk Contest.
The Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ last hit shelves in 2018 and quickly sold out. The sneakers are set to make their return this weekend on Saturday, November 23, for $220 at Jordan retailers worldwide. These iconic sneakers have stood the test of time and are expected to sell out again in 2024, 36 years after their initial release in 1988.
