Previous retro releases dropped in 2006 and 2013, both of which featured the Jumpman logo on the heel instead of Nike Air. While it did include Nike Air branding, purists didn’t consider it a true retro due to the modified construction.

The 2025 version returns with subtle shape refinements that bring it closer to the original, including a streamlined collar and a more slanted toe box. Along with the return of Nike Air branding on the heel, this version features translucent netting on the tongue and side panels, clear lace locks, and a matching translucent outsole. These updates aim to stay true to the original design while appealing to both collectors and new fans.
