November 17, 2024
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner capped off the end of the tennis season winning the ATP Finals earlier today in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 against top ranked American Taylor Fritz. With the win Sinner became the first player to win the ATP Finals without dropping a set since Ivan Lendl in 1986.
Sinner is now 70-6 on the year, and is the first man to win 70 matches in a single season since Andy Murray back in 2016. Murray won 78 matches that year, and was also the year end world No. 1.
Sinner will look to add more wins to his season, as he is scheduled to play in the Davis Cup Finals this week.
