Josh Giddey Signs Four-Year, $100 Million Extension with Bulls

Restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey has agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls. The 22-year-old Australian point guard has cemented himself as the franchise’s starting point guard after arriving in Chicago last summer in a one-for-one trade that sent veteran Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Originally drafted sixth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by Oklahoma City, Giddey joined the Bulls in June 2024. In his first season with Chicago, he delivered a career year, averaging 14.6 points, a career-high 8.1 rebounds, a team-best 7.2 assists, and a career-high 1.2 steals in 30.2 minutes over 70 games (69 starts). He also shot a career-best 37.8% from three-point range.

Giddey’s impact was even greater after the All-Star break and the midseason trade of Zach LaVine. Elevated into a leadership role, he averaged 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 9.3 assists on 50% shooting, including 46% from three-point range, down the stretch.

Across his four-year NBA career, Giddey has averaged 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 0.9 steals in 29.3 minutes over 280 games (279 starts). The former No. 6 overall pick earned NBA Rising Stars selections in each of his first two seasons, was named to the 2021–22 All-Rookie Second Team, and won Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors four times.
