Ronnie Fieg and Kith are teaming up with BMW for the third time, this time to rebuild a bespoke 1981 BMW M1 E26. The collaboration highlights BMW’s automotive legacy through Kith’s modern vision.
Fieg and BMW dedicated a year to rebuilding the car, sourcing original parts from BMW archives and designing a completely new, custom interior. The car’s exterior is finished in Techno Violet, a rare and iconic BMW color. Inside, the cabin features BMW Individual Black Merino Leather with the Kith monogram pattern adorning the center panels, headrests, shift boot, door cards, and floor mats.
The Kith M1 is powered by its original 3.5L inline-six engine, delivering 277 hp and a top speed of approximately 165 mph, which made the BMW M1 the fastest German road sports car of the 1980s.
The one-of-one car will debut alongside a Kith capsule collection on December 6, 2024, at the Kith for BMW Showcase in Miami, Florida.
