Laver Cup

The Laver Cup kicks off in a couple day, and its been one of the key events on the calendar during the professional tennis tour despite the event being relatively new compared to other events such as Grand Slams and Masters tournaments.

The Laver Cup is an annual men’s tennis tournament that was founded in 2017, and named after Australian tennis legend Rod Laver. The tournament is a team event with players from Europe “Team Europe” competing against players from the rest of the world “Team World.” The event has only taken place 6 times with the first event taking place in 2017. Roger Federer created the tournament and has made it an iconic event that players and fans are drawn to.

Visually the event is different and stands out with the black tennis court compared to the typical blue, green, and red courts. The team aspect of the tournament is unique too, as tennis is typically an individual sport.
