Luka Dončić delivered a historic performance Thursday night, scoring 60 points as the Los Angeles Lakers extended their season-best winning streak to eight games with a 134–126 win over the Miami Heat.
Dončić’s 60-point performance marked his highest scoring total since the Lakers acquired him last season and tied the second-highest single-game total of his career. Only his 73-point performance against Atlanta in 2024 ranks higher, while the performance matched a 60-point game he posted against New York in 2022.
The NBA’s leading scorer continued his high scoring stretch, reaching at least 30 points for the eighth straight game and eclipsing 50 points for the second time in his last five outings.
Dončić scored 21 points in the first half before completely taking over after the break. He erupted for 19 points in the third quarter to swing momentum in the Lakers’ favor, then closed the door with 20 more in the fourth. In all, he scored 39 of his 60 points after halftime, finishing 18-of-30 from the field, 9-of-17 from three-point range, and 15-of-19 at the free-throw line in a dominant performance that defined the night.
