Australia’s Minjee Lee secured her third career major title with a gritty performance at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, held at Fields Ranch East in Frisco, Texas. Lee finished at 4-under-par 284 for the week, winning by three shots over American Auston Kim and Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen. The win also marks her 11th LPGA Tour title and her first since the 2023 BMW Ladies Championship.
Lee entered the final round with a four-shot lead and briefly stretched it to five, but a rough start brought her advantage down to two. She shot 2-over 74 on Sunday, with five bogeys—including three in the first six holes—and three birdies. Despite the early setbacks, Lee remained composed and played the final eight holes in 1 under to maintain control and seal the win.
Even with an over-par finish, the real difference came on Saturday when Lee posted a bogey-free 3-under 69 to separate herself from the field. Her steadiness under pressure ensured that her lead was never seriously threatened in the final round.
Only three players finished under par for the tournament: Lee, Kim, and Wannasaen. World No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul, who started the final round four shots back, finished in a tie for fourth with Japan’s Chisato Iwai.
With this win, Lee adds to her major championship resume, which includes the 2021 Evian Championship and the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open. She is now just one major victory away from completing an LPGA-recognized career Grand Slam (four out of five).
