Porsche won the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, a long-distance off-road race, with the Porsche 953, a modified 4×4 version of the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2. Thirty-eight years later, Porsche introduced the 911 Dakar, a special edition of the iconic 911, inspired by the brand’s rich history in off-road racing. Unveiled in 2022, the 911 Dakar is a high-performance variant specifically engineered for off-road capability.

The 911 Dakar is based on the Porsche Carrera 4 GTS but is transformed into an off-road rally car with all-terrain tires and a raised suspension. Both models share a 473-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine.

The 911 Dakar is a limited-edition model, with only around 2,500 units produced. It starts at a base price of $223,450 at Porsche dealerships, and can be found on the secondary market in the $300,000 range.
