UFC Fight Night: Adesanya vs. Imavov took place earlier today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and 5th-ranked UFC middleweight Nassourdine Imavov headlining the card. This was Adesanya’s first non-championship fight since April 2019, when he defeated Kelvin Gastelum to win the interim UFC middleweight championship.
Imavov secured the biggest win of his career with a knockout against the future UFC Hall of Famer, proving himself as one of the top contenders in the middleweight division.
Adesanya entered this fight coming off back-to-back losses and had lost three of his last four fights. The former champion fought well in the first round, winning it on all the judges’ scorecards. He successfully defended multiple takedown attempts while pressuring Imavov with jabs and leg kicks.
Despite the slow start, Imavov applied pressure early in the second round before landing an overhand right that knocked Adesanya down. He followed up with punches against the cage and on the ground before the referee stopped the fight at 0:30 in the round.
With this win, Imavov emerges as a top title contender and could be next in line after the middleweight title fight next week between current champion Dricus Du Plessis and former champion Sean Strickland.

The fourth fight on the card featured undefeated middleweight prospect Shara Magomedov against former Bellator title contender Michael Page. Page secured a lopsided decision win (30-27, 30-27, 29-28), handing Magomedov the first loss of his career.
Despite spending most of his career at welterweight and moving up a weight class for this fight, Page controlled most of the bout with his movement and counter-striking, preventing Magomedov from landing anything significant.
With this victory, Page earns the biggest win of his short UFC career and plans to move back down to welterweight for his next fight.
