Victor Wembanyama Becomes Third Player Ever With Multiple 5×5 Games (Sports)
November 1, 2024
Victor Wembanyama had his second career 5×5 game in a 106 to 88 San Antonio Spurs win over the Utah Jazz on Thursday night. Wembanyama had at least five in five categories with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks. A 5×5 game is when a player gets to five or more in the five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
This was Wembanyama’s fifth game in his second season in the NBA, and is now the third player in NBA history with multiple 5×5 games, joining Hakeem Olajuwon with six and Andrei Kirilenko with three.
Wembanyama is a generational player, and people shouldn’t be surprised if he ends up passing Olajuwon’s record of six 5×5 games. It’s a realistic take that he might even have a few more 5×5 stat lines during this season with him getting his first one this season 5 games in.
