Yoshinobu Yamamoto Injury Update (Sports)
July 21, 2024
Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been shut down for the last five weeks with with a strained rotator cuff, and he has not been back to the bullpen since. He said earlier today that his goal is to return before the end of the season, with the Dodgers hoping for late August or early September. It still seems too early to set a timetable for his return back to the mound, but a month or two before October to ramp up for the playoffs would be the perfect scenario.
Yamamoto says that everything is going as planned with his rehab, and he hasn’t experienced any discomfort while stretching his throwing progression. The Dodgers hope that he makes it back to the top of their rotation to help make a deep run in October, while still not rushing him back with their long-term commitment for 12 years, at $325 million.
