The Dodgers starting pitching rotation has faced some injuries recently, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s return to the mound came at the perfect time. Yamamoto has been out since June due to a right shoulder injury, and made his return earlier tonight. He had a strong performance in 4-innings, striking out eight, and only allowing one run on four hits in a 3-6 Dodgers’ loss to the Chicago Cubs at home.
The Dodgers will count on Yamamoto to be a key part of their rotation throughout the Playoffs in October. Other pitchers on the injury list include Tyler Glasnow (elbow), Clayton Kershaw (bone spur in toe) and Gavin Stone (shoulder).
